Behind SILScape are two companies that have spent decades addressing the same issue from different points in the supply chain. One produces the tree. The other handles everything required to ensure that tree arrives, gets planted, and remains alive twenty years later. <\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For a long time, each aspect was accounted for separately. SILScape exists because that division does not reflect reality: in construction, the layout and the material are decided simultaneously, and getting one right while getting the other wrong creates the same problem as failing at both. <\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Because the soil has become the central issue, and hardly anyone is treating it as such.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

There are calls for more trees in places where there is no soil. Paving happens first, and decisions about where the roots will go come later. Small-caliper trees are planted in the belief that they are cheaper, yet after three summers, the project bears no resemblance to the original design. And now, on top of that, there are hillsides that have lost their ground cover and must be stabilized before the next rain. <\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These are distinct problems with a common root: soil can no longer be taken for granted. It must be created, stabilized, contained, or replaced\u2014and neither the nursery nor the supplier alone can solve this anymore. <\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
